dunno....  it seems to me that IBM is still going happily along, supporting
and enhancing MVS and its associated family, and I was working on MVS/VM
for quite some time before I ever started on MPE... on a 1/2 meg Series
III, back in '79.  The way I'm hearing it, MVS will still be trucking along
(albeit cumbersomely and inelegantly) well past the EOS for MPE...
