Tracy,

The settings on the switch pack of our IEM 4430 are

Device Address (0-7) on first three switches. For device 5 switches would be up
down up.

The fourth switch is Offline Request Implementation (Up to reload tape)

The fifth and sixth switches are unused

The seventh switch is Emulation Mode (Up for 7980 9-track tape, Down for C1511
DDS)

The eigth switch is Extended Menu (Up to enable)

The 4410 switch pack should be similar.

RE: [HP3000-L] IEM 4410 Rev A Config

As you recall ealier in the week I queried about proper configuration of
this old DDS drive. Now that I've done that on the HP3000, can someone
tell me what the proper dip switch settings should be on the device?

It seems the one it used before on the old classic conflicted with my LDEV
3, causing me to reboot with RECOVERY.

I found a dip switch setting that doesn't cause my 922 to panic, but I
need one that works. I set it up to path 4.1.5 as an LDEV 8 as a C1511A.

The test I'm using to see if it works, is to check the console and see if
it reports a "TAPE LOADED..." when I put one in. Currently, it doesn't,
but the IEM device reports tape at BOT.

TIA
