One slightly modified, alternate solution for Option #1 might be to use a HP
Print Server. It would certainly be cheaper than a DTC -- and I don't see any
overt reason why it shouldn't be capable of being made to work, given that
your impact printer has a parallel port available and that you can generate a
local Ethernet segment cheaply enough.
