Bar Code printers and HP3K

We are looking to attach a bar code printer (Intermec model 3400) to an
HP3K.  Does anyone have any experience with these printers?  Any
pitfalls that you can let me know about?

The sales rep. that I'm dealing with said he has some software that lets
you design forms and download them to the printer.  I have a little
experience with Fantasia, and was wondering if this is similar software.

Any help would be appreciated.
