yep, Tom's got it right, and simple: substitute hp3000-L@raven for senders'
addresses in 3000-L-to-newsgroup x-posts.  newsgroup repliers can easily use
that address for replies, and it might tend to keep threads more on-topic
(the turn-every-thread-religious pattern is getting on my nerves!).

I wish I'd realized the implications when I ignored the initial thread re
whether to xpost or not!
