There is a PURGEGROUP UDC available on Jazz at:
  http://jazz.external.hp.com/src/scripts/udcvol/index.html

It supports wildcarding and deals with user volumesets too.

Correct.  Redirect the PURGEGROUP command to a disk file that
contains a single record with the text "YES".  E.g.

   :echo YES >yesfile
   :save yesfile
   :purgegroup grpname <yesfile
