excellent question! fwiw -- i just asked why i was paying almost 50%
*more* for support for my 9gb disc drives when compared to the support
costs for the *same* drive when it's installed on a unix system. i got
the standard 'it's more expensive because there are fewer mpe machines
than unix' reply. it's a friggin' disc drive! oh oh -- i know -- if i
lose a (mpe) drive, i'll slide it out of the enclosure, go 'install' it on
a unix system and then call it in -- yeah, that's the ticket
<sigh> - d
