Most of Zebras printers can use both direct thermal and thermal
transfer. The application that Art was referring to are labels that are
attached to brewing equipment that we loan out. In the old days we did
it to a paper stock with a clear overlay. Now we go directly to a Mylar
label that's almost indestructible.

FWIW we are starting put them on JetDirects. Currently I have them
slaved off of terminals and the application just uses escape sequences
to pass the data.

    Lane Rollins can give a better more complete answer... but Boyd
Coffee
uses Zebra's for equipment tags ... and they held up pretty well to the
customer's usage of the equipment and the warehousing of equipment...
