The problem with a "print server" solution is that all the data will be
written to the "print servers" disk...and then sent to the printer from the
print server...this can be inefficient for very large reports. The print
server will then do the same "chattering" that your HP3k is now doing. This
may free up the HP... but may also have the side affect of slowing the
Novell network which should be servicing the users!

We use ESPUL <plug> from RAC consulting...it has some parameters to adjust
to packet size and timing...you may what to call RAC to see if ESPUL  can
help!
