I failed to send my suggestion to the entire list. Since it turned out to

That did the trick! The VENVCNTL file was missing from the 979, so I
copied it from one of the other systems (both are identical).

At startup 'VPLUS' tries to open the file 'VENVCNTL.PUB.SYS'. This file is
supposed to contain information that would 'speed up' the opening of the
terminal. You may want to compare the contents/existence of this files
across your systems.

One of our programmers has posed a problem for which I have no ready answer

A program in our primary online application performs an automatic copy of a
particular VPlus screen to the Windows Clipboard for the
user by calling VTURNOFF, issuing a Reflection escape sequence to copy the
screen contents, then calling VTURNON.
The puzzler is that this works OK with Reflection NS-VT connections on two
of our systems, but not on the third. The program,
screen and data file versions have been verified as identical on all
systems. I cannot, however, vouch for the revision levels
of VPlus on all systems, but all are running 5.5 PP1. The version of
Reflection used to connect to each of the systems is
identical and uses the same settings file. No error trapping is done in
the VTURN@ functions nor in the Reflection display,
(for shame!) so I have no idea if these are failing or why.
Can anyone think of another possibility that I've overlooked? Can VPLUS's
rev levels be determined by other than looking
in HPSWINFO (each shows VPLUS/V as version B.06.06, as does FORMSPEC when
it's run).
