Great article and Ron makes a great point regarding the HP 3000. It is too
bad that HP again goes outside to a CEO who doesn't know or understand the
famed "HP Way". Carly made the company just another business and purged
the "HP Way". In the interim I have heard that HP is down sizing but is
using the early retirement offerings first unlike Carly's method of "get
your stuff your done!". It appears to me that HP did a lot better while
using methods within their culture (the HP way) and haven't done so well
when using methods outside.
