I for one, also assumed that spoolinfo() would return spool-file info such as
env-file, copies, forms-msg, pages, state, etc., and pretty much everything I
check in my 'spfstat' command file.

Spooler PROCESS info is an interesting subject. I can get most of the info I
want from :showjob or a command-file I have that checks device status, but I
would kinda like an easy way to see if a spooler is suspended. I just figured
that would be part of devinfo, not spoolinfo. That assumption just comes from
thinking in terms of my own command files, since the device-status one can
tell if a spooler is stopped by checking the device's ownership.

An easy way to tell if a printer is out of paper or waiting for a forms reply
would also be nice -- for me, at least. My operator might not think so,
because I might set up an all-day background job check these things and send
her little reminders. Can these be put info devinfo() ?

Subject: [HP3000-L] spoolinfo() and devinfo() externals questions

Hi all,
<snip>
2) spoolinfo(): spool file info vs. spooler device/process info? All
along I've assumed (dangerous) that the CI spoolinfo function is to
return information about spool files, as provided by AIFSPFGET, see:
http://docs.hp.com/en/36374-90013/ch03s48.html
But, AIFSPPGET provides info about the spooler processes. What type of
information do you want spoolinfo() to return?

Thanks,
 Jeff Vance, vCSY
