All our laser printing runs thru env-files (and/or setup files) that use
esc-E near the beginning, to reset the printer to defaults. Recommended.
Should work for clearing tabs and anything else you forgot.
Then each env-file here specifies the values it needs for everything that I
ever thought might possibly matter.
Below is an example in more-or-less human-readable form. Indented lines are
comments, mostly describing the functions of the codes in the line above.
{Curly-braces} in the comments indicate codes I considered but am not using
now. To convert these files to something usable, I run them thru a simple
converter that deletes every line that doesn't start with "~", then changes
each "~" to escape.
You can do this in Editor by
W FLAG;D " "
C "~", "hit-escape-here",ALL
:print land.envtext.shr
For standard 6 lpi 132 column LP reports, on laserjet
letter paper.
Actual max char = 136; max lines 61 w/o CCTL.
(indent all comments & no text)
(to convert to live; mass delete " "
and mass change "~" to escape)

HP sample has VMI instead of lines-per-inch.

{5.99c} might be better than 8d for plain reports (don't

LJ 4050, etc: effects 'print' and job-listings,
not CCTL files; this is mostly ok, but in
landscape mode, a 'CCTL' file that miscounts
can disappear a few lines of output.

Subject: [HP3000-L] printer offset
Just added this 2035n to npconfig. Seems to work OK for me, doing a listf,
and even a PCL controlled formatted page with lines and shadow and font
changes. Accountant runs a listing - left edge offsets ~15mm ? Also for him,
another PCL controlled form offset the same amount in from the left edge -
in portrait mode.
Some where in the backl of my mind I seem to recall something about clearing
tabs in a printer was involved in this area once before.
Can Anybody remind me where to look please?
Tks
