We had an instance of the Console locking up--

A user accidentally hit the spacebar on the console. The console message
buffer filled up, preventing it from functioning. An additional problem was
that a DTC was physically reset and could not send its message to the
console, preventing anyone connected to that DTC from logging on.

A ctl-shift-reset fixed the console, but it still took a while to process
the messages.
