Jim,

A few things to check:

1. Is the guest account disabled on the NT server.
2. Do you get the password prompt when you click on the computer or
after it when you try to click on a share? I'm guessing the computer
because IPC$ is an internal share (Interprocess communication) and you
shouldn't be able to connect to it anyway (I think, I'm not exactly a
SMB expert)
3. Have you tried just clicking ok with no password?
4. Can you map directly to a share: ie \\RF2000\some_share_name from
Map Network Drive (Right click on Network Neighborhood or My Computer)
5. Is the NT server part of a domain or a workgroup? I'm not sure this
would make a difference.

Hope this helps.

On 3/19/99 you wrote:

We have three NT servers on our network. When I try to access them
through Network Neighborhood from a Win95 client, I get a message
box labeled "Enter Network Password", that says

-------------------------------------------------------------------
You must enter a password to make this connection.

Resource: \\RF2000\IPC$

Password:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"RF2000" is the name of the computer I want to access. I have tried
the "Administrator" password (which is the only one I know about)
and it does not work. What do I need to do to be able to access
these NT servers like a Win95 box?

Thanks in advance.
