Search for "Hardware Maintenance" and "Software Support" to get a list
of vendors who offer hardware and software support to replace your
current HP support after your end-of-life date.

You could actually do it yourself, if you wished. It is probably
possible now
to buy an additional, identical 917LX for approx. $500. If you can find
them,
buy two. With those two machines in a closet and screwdriver, you
should be
able to fix anything for a long time to come.

HP3000's are highly modularized devices, built very much like any PC.
Replacing components only takes a few minutes, if you have a spare
working
module.
