just be aware that frombyte only generates an 80-byte text file.  i'm
not sure if the frombyte'd file is numbered or not....  there are
programs out there that are expecting 'their' input files to be
unnumbered (setparms.arpa.sys is one of them, for example) and maybe
even 72 bytes wide.

i seem to recall a contributed program from ted ashton that was a
'smarter' frombyte.  does anyone else?  is it on jazz?    - d
