Mike,

Thanks so much.  That got me one step further.  My reslvcnf file was totally
messed up.  It had what someone had put in it 2 years ago.

Now I get the message: "SambaServer not accessible.  The account is not
authorized to log in from this station."

        Eva,

          If you have another server acting as a DNS, then you can get
        the 3000 to use it by doing the following steps (this assumes
        that the 3000 wasn't using DNS at sometime in the past):
