Agilent just put a freeze on until after the split from HP is complete.
I found out that this is why they moved so fast suddenly with me after
months of no decisions. I was told for a long time (Since October) that
no decisions would be made until April. All of a sudden I get called for
an interview the next day - just after getting sick on a trip to South
Bend Indiana. I must have done well because they took me to a break room
after the interview and five minutes later came in and said I had gotten
in.
I found out that the freeze went in the day after I started. They even
had me start before the background check was finished (but they did get
a preliminary OK from the checkers). So I believe that I just slipped in
other the wire. It was me or nobody.
I don't personally know anything but my impression is that Agilent will
be needing more people after the freeze comes off depending on how many
HP people chose to go with Agilent. I imagine the same thing would apply
to HP if too many people go to Agilent. I just like the fact that
Agilent's stock jumped from $112 to $160 on Monday.
