Could it be possible that the MPE/iX spoolfiles you are sending to the NT
controlled printers contain CCTL (carriage control) codes in the 1st column?
You might want to check LISTF,2 re VAS versus VACS type or PRINTSPF output.
CCTL will not be understood by NT or the printers. This stuff is normally
converted to reasonable Escape sequences by the MPE/iX output spooler. You
might need to do this with a small program before sending to the NT with
SMBCLIENT. (Maybe someone has such a program at hand; I guess all of the
3rd party spooling packages that do lpr/lpd or similar protocols are also
doing some conversion of this kind).
