I'm glad to see all of the recent traffic and interest regarding
RoadRunner for MPE/iX, but I would like to clear up a few
misconceptions that have recently surfaced regarding its future.
It is nice, however, to see so much concern over its "fate".
Here's some clarification on what is happening with the RoadRunner
product line:

RoadRunner for MPE/iX:

RoadRunner for MPE/iX will continue to be sold, supported and enhanced
by Tivoli Systems. Tivoli values the large, loyal base of MPE/iX users
who rely on RoadRunner, and will continue to deliver new versions of
RoadRunner to this community. The latest major enhancements to
RoadRunner (Zero Downtime Online Backup) were finalized February 1998.

RoadRunner for Unix:

Tivoli is exploring ways to jointly leverage RoadRunner for Unix and
ADSM technology (ADSM is IBM's storage management solution). With
access to IBM's storage management resources, we are evaluating how
we can provide the greatest value to our installed base of RoadRunner
for Unix users.

Tivoli is committed to openness and cross-platform solutions. That
commitment includes the HP3000 platform.

Best regards,
Terry Tipton
