Every US president since FDR, with possible exception of Ford, has at
sometime threatened use of nuclear/atomic weapons. (For Denys sake let me
point out that this applies to presidents of both the Democratic Party and
the Republican Party.) As long as a weapon exists the threat to use it
exists. As long as a weapon exists the temptation to use it exists.
Historically, humankind has never developed a weapon it did not at some
point use.

Let Peace be the maxim by which we act because we will Peace to become a
universal law.
