This is what we did to improve disc IO performance after we installed an
AutoRAID 12H:
1. Reconnected our FWD HASS and defined a user volume set on those discs.
2. Moved the groups holding the temporary extracted data files to this UVS.
3. Created a SORT group on this UVS and forced Sort to use it as sort space.
I don't have access to that system now, but Neil recalls we did it with 2
file equations: FILE SORTS1=SORTS1.SORT.ACCT and FILE
SORTS2=SORTS2.SORT.ACCT
Also don't forget the 50% capacity rule on the AutoRAID.
Now if I can figure how to put spool files on a user volume set....

Subject: upgrade from 987/150 to 996/400
After upgrading from 987/150 to 996/400, performance
doesn't seem to be any better. I went from a non-raid fast
wide jamaice box on the 987 to a model 12h array. Is the model
12 known to be slow? Shouldn't I see some improvement? As far as
memory goes, I went from 1.5G to 3.5G. Anybody?
