I believe ntp has been ported to MPE/ix with a few problems. Since it polls
the time quite often and the setclock command is only settable to the second
the client can become confused as the changes in the clock so many times.

The way we do this is to use the sntp client ( timesync from Telamon?) and
then resync time every day. We are usually off by no more that 3 seconds in
a day and this is quite accurate for what we need.

Subject: Using NTP Client on MPE

We are getting a device to send the time periodically to our processors
using Network Time Protocol (NTP).

Our network person claims it works on HP-UX to set the time.

Is there an option on the HP e3000 to set the time from an external device
on an intranet using NTP?
