Hmmm. I've been running Samba on 6.0 now for several months without
seeing it abort or hang. Now I'll admit my volume of traffic is fairly light,
but for about an hour each evening I back up my production NT web
server to a Samba share without a hitch.
Have you called it in to the Response Center to see if anything
similar has been previously reported?

Regards,

Subject: [HP3000-L] Samba aborts

I have Samba running but have never gotten it to be useful because the
listener program smbd regularly aborts with "native stack overflow" even
when I'm not using it to transfer files, and "hangs" in the middle of file
transfers. This is the MPEix 6.0 version of Samba and I am running it as it
came, i.e., xeq smbd.samba.sys "-D -p 139". Where should I start to look
for the problem? Thanks to all you experts for your help.
