and Jeff Kell mentioned there is still the mental/actual type-
ahead problem.  True;  there will always be a way for any of
us to screw up somehow.  But on the whole, I still think this
is worth doing;  believe it would take care of that critical
moment of interactive forgetfullness for most people most
of the time.
 
Obviously Tony's and Carolyn's suggestions are good
enhancements to my original idea.  In fact, if Tony's idea
was adopted maybe we could dispense with having to add
another flag to DBUTIL for this feature;  would be nice to
be able to avoid that........
