And what our state spends is being eaten up by employee salaries and
benefits and not making it to the classroom.  They have risen
astonomically.  The union here is quite strong and they've learned whose
pockets to talk to.  Teaching is a high paying job that you can retire from
at age 55 with a nice pension and group medical.  I just wonder if we'll be
able to afford the tab for it all.  I don't think it's being calculated
actuarially.
