Gee. When you're still/already running Samba/iX (the SMBD part) then you
might even look into using smbclient -M on the Unix side to send a "WinPopup"
message to the 3000. I believe the "message command" in smb.conf can be used
to route this into a TELLOP command.

I believe someone recently told me that (s)he is using this...
