Am curious on this list what anyone's interest would be in a port of
CA-Ingres to the HP3000 platform?

1) Could this be something anyone would want?

2) Could this be something a developer could use?

3) Do you think it has the potential to increase the available applications
for the HP3000 platform?

4) Would it help the installed base of HP3000s to retain the platform
vis-a-vis "forced" conversions to other platforms?

Obviously, from my signature file, you can tell that I work for CA. The
intent is to gather information whether a port for CA-Ingres to the HP3000
is a worthwhile endeavor. Your opinions would be used to formulate a
justification to CA managment. Numbers would also be useful.

Of course it would be obvious from this source the first application CA
could port would be MK (formerly MANMAN/X) and would compete with our own
MANMAN Classic. A side benefit would be that other applications that use
CA-Ingres could also become available for the HP3000 platform.
