I disagree. It is relevant and important to the people (OK,
person--only one individual has expressed an interest in the answer to
the question) who have an immediate interest in determining the fair
market value of something. Except that it has pretty much degenerated
into a "Did too!/Did not!" "my citation can beat up your citation"
bickering contest between a very small number of participants--none of
whom appear to represent the person who was/is looking for said
answer. As such, it is of pretty much zero interest to over 99% of the
recipients of the list, and (presumably) a similar percentage of the
newsgroup. That qualifies it as "off topic". Just because something
was once, or might conceivably at some future time be, of interest to
any arbitrarily-selected member of the group, it is not automatically
of current, burning interest to every member of that group.

Or, as one private reply to my posting put it:
 "Yuh took the words outta my mouth, dude!"
