Don't know the actual syntax, Mark, but the term commonly used is to enable bridging which will pass MAC (the 12 digit hex hardware address) addresses.

Most companies won't allow this in their WANs, but this sounds like it's all under your control so shouldn't present a problem.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Remote DTC -- switch config

We're needing to place a remote DTC across town from where our A500 is
currently housed. These two sites are connected via a local loop transparent
LAN. In between these two units are at least 2 Procurve 5412 switches and a
Cisco router or two.

I know that somehow the switches and routers must be configured so as to
allow multicasting on addresses 09-00-09-xx-xx-xx to be forwarded and not
filtered, but our Procurve administrators aren't quite sure they know how
exactly how to do this and I'd like to see them get it done sooner rather
than later. They said "unless you can tell me exactly how to do this, it
won't be this week". Ouch. We plan to go live with this box very soon and I
don't want to wait!

Does anybody know Procurve-ese for configuring what's necessary to allow
remote DTC operation across our network?
