Ken & list
This does not solve my problem. Since I had chmod'ed all of those items.
/etc/profile
/etc/motd
/usr/lib/terminfo/*
to 444 and you suggested 555, I tried that and it made no difference.
Again, vi under MANAGER.SYS will work, but "more" gets an Unknown Terminal
Type "". and under OPERATOR.SYS, "vi" gets the Unkown Terminal type "".
Next Suggestion?

Ken siad...
Hi ALL,
This is an easy one, the setup for the posix shell only gives permission
to
MANAGER.SYS to access a lot of the files and directories to run the shell
properly as anything other than MANAGER.SYS...
As MANAGER.SYS enter the shell and cd /usr/lib, do ls -l and see the
permissions on terminfo. Use chmod to allow access to this I think I setr
mine to 555 ie. read and execute to everyone. Within this directory are
the
termcap files for each terminal type. You may need to chmod this filke as
well!!
I also allowed read access to /usr/local trying to get samba up!!
I hope this helps.
