Dare I toss this one out... how about we just transfer serialized java
objects and dispense with the XML? (Erik now ducking for cover :-)
That way, you get the data AND the code to deal with it (but then, for
a  million 'records' of data, you don't want the code a million times.
Just musing out loud here).
