COOL! Thats why I like this list, anytime I need help with the HP3000 or

The explaination you have suggested makes sense. Last night I put some
DISPLAY's in the program to see exactly want FFILEINO was retunring. On
the 5.5 machine it always returns +0005, (same prog) on the 5.0 machine
returns -2768
So I am going in today and init my "VPLUS COMAREA-FILEN" to -1 and see
what happens. Man I could see how this could break allot of programs.
However if the reason is to better support POSIX then it is well worth
it!
