Mark,
If it were me, I would grab [log in to unmask] and... whatever FORTRAN (don't remember right now) is from a different system.

Before we embarked upon our 7.5 upgrade and server transition, we secured a
SUBSYS tape with the COBOL and FORTRAN compilers on it.
So, I installed 7.5 on our system, installed NS3000 and the 100Base-T
drivers from separate SUBSYS tapes, configured volumes, networking and DTC,
etc ... and pulled out the COBOL and FORTRAN tape.
And then noticed it's not just a SUBSYS tape ... it's a system load/install
tape/SUBSYS tape combo. It not only has the compilers on it, but also NS3000
and MPE 7.5. If it was JUST a SUBSYS tape with the compilers, I'd be OK, but
that's not what I have. If I'd noticed this in the beginning, I'd just do
the initial install from this tape and probably save a lot of trouble, but
alas I'm already past that point.
I am not sure I am comfortable with how to proceed here.
- I could redo the entire installation, using this tape ... it would get me
MPE, NS, and the compilers. Then I'd just have to add the 100Base-T driver
back in. I could do that, but I'd rather not spend the time. Another day or
two down the drain....
- I could use Patch/iX to install just the SUBSYS part of the tape. However,
looks like it would try to reinstall NS, and also MPE. What's that going to
do to a system that already has MPE and NS installed, and networking
configured? I imagine networking would get "deconfigured", perhaps ... and
I'd possibly lose the 100Base-T drivers again, though I could put those back
easily enough now that I know how. Alternatively, is there a way to "trick"
Patch/iX into just installing SOME of the SUBSYS products?
- I could try to just :RESTORE the [log in to unmask]@.SYS and [log in to unmask]@.SYS files from the
STORE portion of the tape. Actually, I did try that .. and the compilers
won't work. Trying to execute FTNXL or COBOL, I get LDERR's. I am guessing
there's an installation procedure that didn't get done by just doing a
:RESTORE.
So, if this were you, what would you do?
