Hey, ad hominem attacks in election years in a polarized (righ/left,
rich/poor, connected/unconnected ...) society have been the norm here in
France for about as long as parliamentary regimes have been in existence,
which is quite a while by now. So what we can now see in the US does not
really bother me ... yet.

What bothers me, however, is what US politics has become. I really thought
that it was above that. I really thought it was way above the fray of what
it has been here for decades.

Well, I guess it's just another incarnation of the American Dream that has
to fly away in the face of reality ... like low unemployment, equal
opportunities for all, getting a fair return from your own hard work, etc.

US politics is now close to the ugly level it's been here. Oh, and please,
I'm not saying it's a good thing. Just an observation, FWIW.
