<<A bunch of responses said to use GLANCE for what I'm trying to accomplish. Has
anyone ever heard or experienced that using GLANCE could cause your system to
hang?>>

Never!

I have seen a system in the process of hanging itself unable to get GLANCE up and
running when I wanted to find out where the problem lay. I solved that problem by
setting up a hard-wired terminal for each system that would be initiated by STARTSESS
upon startup to run GLANCE and cycle every 180 seconds. This way, I would see
immediately which process was using 99% of the CPU!
