Try using "WHITEN" instead of DUP. Whiten adds a blank line instead of a
duplicate, then your change command only needs to be "ch 1 to 'Y' mods".
This works regardless of the record size.

Michael, a very simple method using QUAD, which comes with your HP3000.
Text in your file and type DUP ALL. Then, CHANGE 1/80 TO 'Y' MODS, and keep
your file. The 1/80 are the columns to change, and you should use the record
length as the second number. Short and simple....
