I am fully aware that those from the heartland (let alone the eastern
seaboard) pay significant penalties when HPW is in the Bay Area;
compared to those of us who have only to take a cheap shuttle flight
in the same time zone.... And it probably makes sense to see what
the post-mortem on HPW-Chicago tells us before blue-skying much
more on this; about not only total attendance but also WHO
attended; i.e.: How many HP techies will be there; compared to
prior years.
For now I only suggest that if the choice appears to come down to
giving HPW a "home" in San Jose where lots of HP people will show
up; and going to Chicago, Philly, etc. results in a major drop-off in
HP techie participation (note I said techie; not manager), then I
would still respectfully suggest that on balance having max HP techie
participation is more important; IMHO... Ask yourself one question:
If there were NO HP techies at HPW, would you still go ?.. I doubt
that I would...
