Except in this analogy, Mr. Johnson would have already gassed some distant
relatives who were living with him, and attempted to "annex" a neighbor's
house by invading it, because, at one time, their land belonged to someone
who also used to own Mr. Johnson's house.

You, however, are right in what you wrote. You are on shaky ground when a
professional satirist adopts your foreign policy logic. Here, we try to
avoid confusing Ted Koppel on Nightline with David Letterman or Jay Leno,
even though all three shows air at the same time, and we do not use their
opening monologues to make policy.
