I've used DataExpress in several shops across the country, and all I
have is praise for the product. It is fast, fairly easy to
understand, and it can send the generated report to labels, report
listing on the printer, a file, and to several file types to your pc.
I have been able to call DataExpress from inside Transact, and used
the data file it extracted as an input to the program. It is a
valuable tool and I would consider it as one of the top three
utilities to have, with things like: Database tool (Adager or
     DBGeneral), and of course, MPEX.

(heck sometimes I don't even claim my thoughts!)

Subject: Experiences with "DataExpress"

We are looking at products to allow us to write C/S apps using PCs to talk
to our HP3000. One product we have come across that looks promising (on
paper anyway :) is "DataExpress" from M.B. Foster Associates (Ontario, Canada).

Does anyone have experiences to share regarding this product (good or bad),
success stories, hidden gotchas, etc.?
