A transceiver is a small conversion device that attaches to the AUI port
(15 pin d-type connector) on a DTC or other Ethernet device. Most of
them have a small switch to enable/disable SQE or sometimes called
heartbeat. The connections to DTC's should have them in the ON position.
SQE switch should be OFF for connections on hub's, switches and
repeaters.
