Hi all,

Previously I asked about why the Version (of the VUF) had changed.
Having not touched that letter for the build for years, I just
wondered why it had changed. I got the following response from
   Christian Lheureux (thanks!):

Craig ,

At last, the folks out at CSY have finally decided that the MPE Core OS
v.u.f. should catch up with the v.u.f. used for the release itself. Let me
explain some basics :

- v.u.f for the Core O.S. and the whole release have been different for some
time. Examples include 4.0, which was release B.40.00 and core O.S. B.30.45,
5.0 which was resp. C.50.00 and B.79.06, and so forth .

- v.u.f. beginning with 'A' are for older MPE/XL stuff, 'B' for multi-processor
capable releases, and 'C' for POSIX-compliant releases. No plans, as far as I
know, for 'D' releases.

So, 5.5 is Core O.S. C.05.07. It just means that CSY has finally renamed it's
Core O.S. to follow the numbering convention they set themselves. Long
overdue ...

Hope that helps ...
