Phil,
Check out the example below. This works well for us. The resulting file is
the ftp'd to an NT base ftp server
!PURGE /usr/AER00502.ZIP
!ZIP.HPBIN.SYS;INFO='/usr/AER00502.ZIP AER00502'
!PURGE AER00502
By the way. The original process to get this file to where it belonged
included down loading to a PC (333mhz)
via 10mb and then PKZipping the file and then ftp'ing it to the destination.
All told, this took almost 2.5 hours.
We move the whole process to a 979/300 and it now takes 20 minutes.

I've used SQUISHER, MOVER and QUARK. Though, QUARK.NMPRV.CSLXL seems to be
move MPE friendly.
ZIP and UNZIP can also be used via POSIX. Though, I've never been able to
have much success calling it from within MPE batch processes.
