Gilles,

Yes, using the same PC with no change in the I.E. version or Firefox and
no change in Java version, the SWC connected fine on the Longs Network
Switch but hangs on the CVS network switch.

Now to through 1 more complication in the mix, the switch is now the
same one that was being used when I could connect as the Longs network,
because, yesterday, the CVS network people "re-purposed" the switch by
loading their software setup onto that same switch.

I know that it has something to do with their setup.

I got them to give me a port which is set up at 10 meg and half duplex
as was suggested by my Longs network folks.

Now I will add one more wrinkle ... The PC that I am using is not a
"authorized" system on the CVS network, I just gave it an IP and the
gateway address, then plugged it into the CVS network.

I was able to get the SWC to respond and connect. So after
disconnecting, we tried to do that same connection through a CVS laptop,
but it failed as before.

After that failure, I then tried by "pirate" PC on the CVS network (I
say pirate as I did not join their domain) and it then failed to get
logged on as before. Not sure what that means, either the session with
the CVS laptop left it in an unusual state or something on the network
identified my other machine and started blocking service to it.

At this point, what we are going to do is punt ... They are setting up a
PC with remote desktop management that I will have access to and I will
connect that serial port to the console and keep a Reflection session
open on the console. I figure that I will enable Log bottom so I can
keep a copy of the console log, which will be one advantage over the
SWC.

I recall SWC issues related to which version of java was running on
pc trying to access SWC.

Also related to which version of IE.

Is the PC being used the same with both successful and unsuccessful
cases?
