Bruce,

Thanks for responding.  I've checked each RL in /lib and rand() only appears
in libc.a.  It does not appear in any of the .sl files.  It looks like all the
.sl files in /lib and /usr/lib are straight copies of the .a files with the
exception of libc.sl.  I've called the Response Center and they had me restore a
job stream from my 6.0 FOS tape that creates the shared libraries.  It treats
/lib/libc.a differently than all the other RLs.  Something's going on there
involving /usr/lib/libcxl.a.  I haven't figured it out completely but I'm going
to try the response center again.

I believe these are in /lib/libm.sl.
