We are running an MPE/iX series 967RX:
 RELEASE: C.50.02 MPE/iX HP31900 B.79.06 USER VERSION: C.50.02

For the second time in two weeks one of our FW scsi (HPC2490WD) drives hung.
The first one was Ldev37 this was Ldev26 and they are on different channels.
The fact that our console was blank and that two more PC type servers had
rebooted indicates that some type of power fluctuation occurred in the room and
the HP was not able to restart. The HPRC will send the CE to verify that all
our connections are OK but again they cannot explain what may have happened but
they are also sending the Powerpatch for release 3.

In addition today I received my copy of the Express-3 communicator and in the
patch info section it makes a reference to Patch index MPEGXH8B (I/O
RESCHEDULING CAUSES DISK HANGS ON SATURATED NIO ALINK PATHS). Based on the
above I have the following questions:

1. What is NIO and is our machine considered to be an NIO machine?

2. Is anyone familiar with the above patch.

3. This would be my first Powerpatch installation. Any directions, warnings,
etc.

TIA
