Re: (28 lines)
Hi Patrick,

you mention Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Explorer
as clients to access the 3000 files by anonymous ftp.

Have you considered to run a web server to allow users
with the above clients comparably easy file access?

You may try the NCSA httpd for MPE/iX available on
http://jazz.external.hp.com or a slightly repackaged
flavour (hopefully very easy to install) by using
the HP 3000 Web Starter Kit available at...

  http://www.idpnet.com/hp3klks.htm
  http://www.entrix.co.uk/download/freeware/
  http://www.3k.com/webkit/
  http://www.allegro.com/software/

Thanks to Joe Geiser, Kim Harris, Chris Bartram and
Stan Sieler for hosting the HP 3000 Web Starter Kit.

By the way, Stan's version at the Allegro site can be
downloaded and then installed "from disc" whereas the
"older" version does create a tape (or dds) that you
have to RESTORE for installing.

:-) Lars/iX
