Coincidentally, I am currently reading a novel by Neal Stephenson
(author of Snowcrash) called "Cryptonomicon" which deals with
code-breaking in WWII including the Enigma (and "Shark" - the U-Boat
version). It's amusing what lengths the authorities apparently went to
to disguise the fact that enemy codes had been broken, according to
Stephenson anyway - it is a novel. :o)
Worth a read, in my opinion.
Cheers,
John Dunlop
