Hello Listers,
I've been trying to get REMSH working from the shell to a Sun Blade in order to control the split/establish of SRDF volumes on 2 EMC Symmetrix (8530 and 3830) and have had difficulty getting it to work as advertised. If anyone has had any experience with this would you mind sharing your tips for success?
The symptom I get is "permission denied", which does not explain anything really. We're able to rsh from an HP-UX to this box as that user and execute the scripts just fine. I've ordered the patch to repair the CI REMSH command that was broken by a previous patch, but according to the documentation that should not prevent proper execution from the shell.
There are two files you can use to allow access on the unix side and the documentation says you need one or the other. (One is a .rhosts in the user path and the other is /etc/hosts.equiv). They are populated according to instructions.
HPRC has only found issues with the patch and CI, and I'm expecting that new patch any time now. They say the shell command should work.
Thank you in advance!
